Content Rules

Say what happened in your own transaction. Nothing more. A person reads every submission before another dealer can see it.

What Belongs in a Review

  • Your own business's first-hand experience with a customer, in a real transaction or attempted transaction with you.
  • Facts you could back up from your own records: paid on time, missed three pickups, refused delivery twice, was polite and prepared.
  • A star rating that matches what you wrote.
  • Only transactions from on or after the date your customer notice went live.

Rejected on sight

  • Any reference to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status or another protected characteristic.
  • Statements or guesses about a person's physical or mental health.
  • A background check result, anything from a Form 4473 or other firearms record, or what the person bought or tried to buy.
  • An accusation of any crime other than payment fraud you can document.
  • Verdicts about character stated as fact. "Refused delivery twice" is a fact. "He is a scammer" is not.
  • A home address, date of birth, driver's license, Social Security or card number.
  • Anything you heard from someone else, and anything about a person who was not your customer.
  • Anything posted to get even, to pressure someone, or to win a payment dispute.

Fraud Reports

A fraud report is a serious statement about a person, so it carries a higher bar than a review.

  • It must fit one of the listed kinds of payment fraud: chargeback, unauthorized or stolen card, identity mismatch, bad check, reshipping scam, or other payment fraud.
  • It must include documentary evidence such as the chargeback notice, the returned check or a police report. Only our moderator sees the evidence.
  • Keep the originals for seven years.
  • If you later learn you were wrong, for example the chargeback is decided in the customer's favor, withdraw the report right away.

How Moderation Works

  • A 2AData reviewer approves or rejects each submission. If it is rejected you see the reason and may submit a corrected version.
  • We never edit your words. You are the author of what you submit, and approval is not a statement by 2AData that it is true.
  • We can remove anything, and suspend any dealer, at any time.

Disputes

  • A customer can read what you wrote, add a response that other dealers will see, and dispute it.
  • You then have 30 days to reply with what supports your submission. No reply means it is removed.
  • A 2AData reviewer decides every dispute and both sides are told the outcome.

Using What You Look Up

  • Look a person up only in connection with a transaction they started with your business.
  • Never share, sell, publish or bulk copy what you see, and never use it for marketing or for decisions about credit, insurance, employment or housing.
  • If you turn a customer away because of it, tell them, and point them to Request My File.
  • The decision to complete a sale is always yours alone. Information here comes from other dealers and is not verified by 2AData.
