MGE Wholesale integration
MGE Wholesale

MGE Wholesale in your Trinity store

Short answer: Trinity connects to MGE Wholesale through the dealer FTP service MGE gives its accounts. MGE publishes cost, quantity and MAP files; Trinity checks them every 15 minutes and matches each item by UPC to the 2AData catalog for titles, photos and specs. Purchase orders go back to MGE as order files, and tracking comes back every hour. You need your own MGE dealer account.Updated November 5, 2026

What Trinity does with MGE Wholesale

Built into every Trinity store and maintained by 2AData. Used today on Trinity dealer stores that order from MGE.

Connection

Your MGE account, over FTP

Your MGE rep issues FTP credentials and your dealer ID. You enter them once in your store admin, and Trinity reads MGE's files and writes your orders on that account.

Stock and cost

Checked every 15 minutes

Trinity checks MGE's cost and quantity file every 15 minutes. MGE rebuilds that file about every 30 minutes, so your site follows MGE's own schedule. If MGE's files stop updating for 6 hours, those items show as out of stock until they do.

Product content

Photos and specs from the 2AData catalog

MGE's files carry cost, quantity and MAP, not product content. Trinity matches each MGE item by UPC to the shared 2AData catalog, which supplies the title, photos and specifications.

Purchase orders

Sent to MGE as order files

When you choose MGE for an order, Trinity writes the purchase order to MGE's FTP. Drop ship to your customer and ship to your store are both supported.

FFL paperwork

Receiving FFL on every firearm order

For a firearm drop ship, the receiving dealer's FFL number, name and address go in the order file, and Trinity emails the FFL copy to your MGE rep. Accessory drop ships are also emailed to your rep, which is how MGE processes them.

Tracking

Imported every hour

Trinity reads MGE's tracking files every hour and adds the tracking number to the order. MGE's file has no carrier column, so Trinity reads the carrier from the format of the tracking number.

Before you connect MGE Wholesale

  • An MGE Wholesale dealer account in good standing. Every store orders on its own account.
  • Your MGE FTP login and dealer ID. Ask your MGE rep for them.
  • A new MGE connection starts in test mode, so no order reaches MGE until you switch it live.
  • Cancellations and short shipments stay with your MGE rep. Trinity cannot cancel an MGE order or detect a sold out line after the order is sent.

The distributor credentials guide lists what to ask each distributor for.

Questions dealers ask about MGE Wholesale

Does Trinity use an MGE Wholesale API?

Trinity uses the dealer FTP service MGE provides to its accounts. MGE publishes cost, quantity and MAP files there, and Trinity sends purchase orders back as order files and reads tracking files from the same service.

How often does MGE stock update on my website?

Trinity checks MGE's files every 15 minutes and then updates your store prices and stock. MGE rebuilds its quantity file about every 30 minutes. If MGE's files stop updating for 6 hours, those items show as out of stock until fresh data arrives.

Do I need my own MGE account?

Yes. Trinity connects to your own MGE Wholesale dealer account with the FTP login and dealer ID your MGE rep gives you. 2AData does not resell MGE access.

Can MGE drop ship firearms to my customer's FFL?

Trinity sends the receiving dealer's FFL number, name and address in the order file and emails the FFL copy to your MGE rep. Ship to your own store is also supported. Whether a given item can drop ship is MGE's decision.

Where do product photos and descriptions come from?

From the shared 2AData catalog. MGE's files carry cost, quantity and MAP, so Trinity matches each item by UPC to the catalog for the title, photos and specifications.

Is MGE included in my Trinity plan?

Each plan includes a number of distributor connections: 5 on Starter, 10 on Professional and every connector on Enterprise. MGE Wholesale counts as one of them.
